About Me
Lin Duperron
My formative years were spent in Québec City under the watchful eye of the Roman Catholic faith in school; however, my family relocated at the start of the 1970s to Toronto, a multicultural city with a diverse cultural landscape. It is where I discovered photography and became immersed in the 1970s punk music scene, and where I continue to practice photography today.
I am currently expanding my series titled "Indoctrination." Part of this series was exhibited with the Women's Art Association of Canada in the prestigious Digman Gallery under the title "Pandæmonium" in 2023. "Indoctrination" captures complex themes of good and evil, trust and deceit, and belief and ignorance, all presented through portraits that inspire reflection and understanding.
I am also proud to have received the Women's Art Association of Canada/Dixie Allen Scholarship Award for Excellence in Photography from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2020/21.
My series, "Beautiful Wrong," which explores plastic waste, was displayed at the University of Brighton in the UK during an exchange with Ryerson (now TMU) called "Emergence," where art and awareness intersected.
I invite you to visit my blog, where I will share not only personal stories—both past and present—but also a collection of my photographs. Additionally, I will provide how-to articles that will guide you through my artistic processes, from initial sketches to the final print, offering a glimpse into my creative journey.
